1. Location & Geography
  • Location: Situated in Gia Sinh Commune, Gia Vien District, Ninh Binh. It is approximately 15km from the Ninh Binh city center and 7km from the Trang An Landscape Complex.
  • Structure: The complex consists of two main areas: the Ancient Bai Dinh Pagoda (nestled on a high mountain) and the New Bai Dinh Pagoda (a massive expansion featuring grand-scale architecture).
  • Highlights: Proudly holding numerous records, including the largest gold-plated bronze Buddha in Asia, the longest Arhat Corridor in Asia, and the largest bronze bell in Vietnam.

Opening hours: 6:00 AM - 9:00 PM daily.
Entrance fees:

  • Electric shuttle: 150,000 VND per person (Round trip).
  • Bao Thap (Stupa) Admission: 50,000 VND per person (To access the highest floor for a panoramic view).
  • Duration: Approximately 2 to 3.5 hours, depending on your walking pace.

3.1. Electric Shuttle: Takes you from the parking area to the main gate (Tam Quan Noi).
3.2. The Arhat Corridor: A scenic walk along two corridors spanning nearly 3km, lined with 500 monolithic stone Arhat statues. This involves about 1,000 to 2,000 steps of gentle walking.
3.3.The Bell Tower: Home to a legendary 36-ton bronze bell.
3.4.Kuan Yin & Phap Chu Halls: Admire massive bronze statues weighing dozens of tons.
3.5. Tam The Hall: Located at the highest point of the new pagoda area, housing three of the largest bronze Buddha statues in Vietnam.
3.6.The Great Stupa: A 13-story stupa, the tallest in Southeast Asia, preserving sacred Buddhist relics from India.
 
4. Transportation
  • Luxury Shared Limousine: The most popular choice from Hanoi (approx. 1.5 - 2 hours). Price starts from 250,000 VND.
  • Private Car: Direct travel via Phap Van - Cau Gie Highway or National Highway 1A.
  • Train: Take a scenic train ride to Ninh Binh Station, then a short 7km taxi/Grab ride to the site.
  • From Ninh Binh Center: Easily accessible by Taxi, Grab, or Motorbike via wide, well-paved roads.
  • Inside the Complex: Since the complex spans over 500 hectares, electric shuttles are essential for moving from the parking lot to the central hub. From there, you will explore on foot through covered corridors connecting the various shrines.

Essential Tips for Your Visit:
  • Dress Code: As this is a sacred site, please wear respectful attire (shoulders and knees should be covered).
  • Footwear: Comfortable walking or sports shoes are highly recommended for the walk along the Arhat Corridor.
