1. Location & Geography

• Location: Situated within the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital national relic site, Truong Yen Commune, Hoa Lu District. It is conveniently located just 2km from Trang An and about 8km from Bai Dinh Pagoda.
• Landscape: A secluded flooded valley completely surrounded by mountains. To enter this hidden world, visitors travel through a modern tunnel pierced through the mountain or climb over traditional stone steps.
• Significance: Often called the "Tuyet Tinh Coc" of Vietnam (meaning a legendary secluded valley) due to its mysterious atmosphere and breathtaking emerald-green water that remains vibrant year-round.

 
2. History & Activities
Culture: This sacred site holds deep historical roots. It was once the location where Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang established a court to maintain justice, and later became the place where Queen Mother Duong Van Nga spent her final years as a Buddhist nun. The Am Tien Cave, located halfway up the mountain, is shrouded in the heroic and tragic legends of the Dinh and Le dynasties.
Signature activities:

• Temple visit: Climb over 200 stone steps to reach Am Tien Cave and Pagoda. Light incense and enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the entire valley from above.
• The Ancient Wall: Take a stroll along the stone walls that mimic ancient fortress architecture, offering a panoramic view of the "Giai Oan" (Absolution) Lake.
• Pure relaxation: Breathe in the fresh, crisp air and enjoy the absolute silence of nature.

• Cycling: You can rent a bicycle to ride along the smooth, paved path encircling the turquoise lake. The route is flat, shaded by trees, and incredibly romantic.
• Walking: A leisurely stroll around the lake allows you to see schools of fish swimming in the water, which is so clear you can see right to the bottom.

 
4. Transportation

• Luxury Shared Limousine: The most popular choice from Hanoi (approx. 1.5 - 2 hours). Price starts from 300,000 VND.
• Private Car: Direct travel via Phap Van - Cau Gie Highway or National Highway 1A.
• Train: Take a scenic train ride to Ninh Binh Station, then a short 7km taxi/Grab ride to the site.
• Local Travel: Once in Tuyet Tinh Coc, renting a bicycle or motorbike is the best way to soak in the fresh countryside air.
• Bicycle/Motorbike: Since it is very close to Trang An, many travelers enjoy cycling from there to Tuyet Tinh Coc. The road is scenic, safe, and easy to find.
• Car: Ample parking is available directly in front of the tunnel entrance leading into the valley.
